What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Camp Aide position at City of Fort Lupton?
Pre-Service Training to take place the month of May (online and in person). Approximately 20-25 hours of pre-service training.
The Program Aid position provides direction and supervision of activities in a child care setting within the guidelines of established policies. This position is ideal for high school or college students looking for experience working with children. If you are at least 16 years old, apply now! You do NOT need experience. We will train you on everything so you feel 100% comfortable engaging with the children.The following duties and responsibilities are not all inclusive. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assists in supervision and instructing of a variety of activities for children ages 5-12.
- Enforces rules and regulations in accordance with state, local and department policies.
- Ensures safety of child, parents, visitors and co-workers.
- Possess a professional and welcoming demeanor.
- Maintains the cleanliness of facilities.
- Communicates with parents regarding child’s activities.
- Must have ability to visually and audibly supervise children in a variety of situations.
- Must be highly motivated and take direction well with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Will have knowledge of child care programming, recreation and its application, safety and emergency first-aid procedures, program management, and customer service principles.

Physical Demands:
The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, rescue, bend, kneel, stoop, squat, twist, push, pull, jump, climb, reach, talk, hear, and see. The employee is also required to frequently perform light to heavy lifting, up to 50 lbs.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
Bilingual preferred.
LICENSURE AND/OR CERTIFICATION:
CPR or obtainable before first day of employment.
First Aid or obtainable before first day of employment.
AED or obtainable before first day of employment.
Standard Precautions or obtainable before first day of employment.
Be able to obtain all trainings required to work in a licensed childcare environment (such as CPR, First Aid, Mandated Reporter Training).
Pass a TRAILS and FBI fingerprint background check.
OTHER REQUIREMENT:
Minimum age of 16 years.

The City of Fort Lupton maintains a drug free workplace, including marijuana. As a condition of employment, applicants selected for employment with the City of Fort Lupton may be required to undergo pre-employment drug testing and background check. Candidates whom are hired are subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident testing. Some departments are also subject to random drug testing.

The maintenance of a valid license and a good driving record is required if the job duties require the operation of City vehicles or equipment or who must travel by motor vehicle in the course of City business. Applicants may be required to furnish copies of Motor Vehicle Records (less than 30 days old) when applying for positions that require a valid driver’s license.
