Under the general direction of the designated supervisor, responsible for the supervision and coordination of maintenance and construction projects for the Water and Wastewater Department, Streets-Concrete/Asphalt, Traffic, Facilities Management, and street lighting departments .
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the City's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; completing employee performance evaluations; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Responsibilities and Reporting During an Emergency Situation:
Essential Employees may be required to work during a declared emergency. Depending on the nature of the emergency, this may require working around the clock for several days on short notice.
Non Essential Employees will not be required to work during a declared emergency. The employee's Department Head will determine when the employee will be required to work.

- Responsible for scheduling and inspecting maintenance and construction projects.
- Responsible for reviewing blueprints, diagrams and other documents in the planning stages of construction and maintenance projects.
- Responsible for supervising, training and evaluating the performance of staff; provides safety instruction and training to staff.
- Responsible for overseeing work zone safety.
- Responsible for maintenance of vehicles and related equipment.
- Responsible for recording keeping, including but not limited to payroll, work progress and disposition of materials.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Five years experience in related field with a minimum of three years of progressively responsible supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training that provides the required knowledge and abilities.
- Possess a valid Class "B" Florida Commercial Driver's License. OR Obtain within 12 months.
- Must either hold one of the following: Water Operator License, Sewer Operator License, Stormwater Operator Level 2, Electrician license, MOT License; or must be able to obtain at least one of these licenses within twelve (12) months of hire date.
- Able to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations.
- Able to read and interpret MUTCD traffic maps, blueprints, construction plans and as-builts.
- Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to react quickly to serious problems and bring to satisfactory resolutions.
- Ability to effectively use a personal computer and applicable software.
- Ability to prepare reports and maintain records.
- Able to operate necessary equipment, including tablet, laptop and desktop computer, hand tools and applicable software.
- Tasks involve climbing and descending steps, ladders, stairs, etc.; sitting; standing; walking; kneeling, bending, stooping, crawling, reaching, pushing, pulling and performing other physical requirements commensurate with demands of position.Manual dexterity to operate hand and power tools.Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
