GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Construction Worker/Building Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a variety of tasks involving physical labor and maintenance work on buildings and construction sites. You will be responsible for performing various tasks related to construction, renovation, and maintenance projects, ensuring that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with relevant codes and standards.

You will be responsible for performing various tasks related to construction, renovation, and maintenance projects, ensuring that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with relevant codes and standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assists carpenters, plumbers, electricians and other skilled trades.
- Inspects facilities city wide as required to ensure safety and designed function.
- Maintains records and makes reports.
- Perform, direct and supervise construction projects, including demolition, framing, drywall installation, flooring, and finishing.
- Operate hand and power tools to perform tasks such as digging trenches, mixing concrete, and erecting scaffolding.
- Follow blueprints, sketches, and instructions from supervisors to ensure accuracy and quality in construction work.
- Conduct routine inspections of buildings and facilities to identify maintenance needs.
- Perform repairs on electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, and other building systems as needed.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure its proper use at all times.
- Follow local building codes, regulations, and safety standards in all construction and maintenance activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of, and skill in the carpentry trade.
- Knowledge of, and skill in the installation and fabrication of modular and custom cabinetry and general facilities maintenance and repair.
- Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work.
- Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in using construction tools and equipment.
- Proven experience as a construction worker or building maintenance technician.
- Ability to read, interpret and work from blueprints, wiring diagrams, specifications, and operating manuals.
- Ability to maintain records of work performed.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good physical condition and ability to perform manual labor.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
