Asst Manager - Creekmore Pool
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The incumbent, under the direction of the Pool Manager, is responsible for assisting in the managing and supervising the daily operations of the City of Fort Smith public pool located at Creekmore Park. This position is required to work Saturdays and Sundays.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Note: All City of Fort Smith positions require the employee to provide good customer service to both internal and external customers, maintain positive and effective working relationships with other City employees, and have regular and reliable attendance that is non-disruptive. Must show cooperation and respect to fellow employees and supervisors at all times.
1. Maintain a proper state of cleanliness of all the premises in conformance with all relevant codes and ordinances of the city.
2. Maintain facility standards by the following procedures:
a. Warning patrons and staff about potential dangers.
b. Post signs and outline rules for facility users and staff.
c. Provide staff with written and verbal information on safety.
d. Provide staff with protective equipment.
3. Address unsafe physical and monitor chemical conditions.
4. Ensure daily receipt records are accurate and recorded using the appropriate paperwork.
5. Keep records on facility operations and employees; schedules, time sheets, attendance, incident and injury, health, sanitation, maintenance, and water conditions.
6. In the absence of the Pool Manager, supervise closing of facilities and make final report and inventory of equipment.
7. Regular attendance and timeliness is required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assistant Pool Manager serves as a supervisor of the Head lifeguards within the department. This position assumed the direct supervisory role in the absence of the Pool Manager. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the city’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include assisting in the training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

The incumbent should have knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and equipment.

- A minimum of five years related experience is required.
- Ability to direct, supervise and communicate with people effectively is necessary.
- Must hold a current Lifeguard Certification from the American Red Cross or other accredited agency.
- Must have current CPR for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid certifications.
