Job Description:
SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Hurshtown Supervisor, the incumbent runs the recreational facility at Hurshtown Reservoir. The incumbent is expected to exercise good judgment, independence, initiative, and professional expertise in conducting day-to-day operations. All work duties and activities must be performed in accordance with the City safety rules and operating regulations, policies and procedures as well as federal, state, and local regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the ability to interact with the public, City incumbents, and outside agencies with patience, tact, respect, and professionalism and the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Opens facility, checks cash box, and collects fees;
- Deposits money;
- Rents life jackets, boats, kayaks and other equipment;
- Maintains daily attendance records;
- Maintains daily revenue records;
- Balances daily income records;
- Pumps water from boats and sells seasonal passes;
- Assists with programs;
- Prepares and cleans equipment for rental;
- Cleans office building;
- Performs light mowing, cleans refrigerator, dumps trash, washes windows, and cleans building;
- Moves boats into proper position;
- Attends monthly meetings (program related);
- Prepares building for opening/closing.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS
Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and/or ABILITIES
- Training in general safety/emergency procedure;
- Must possess general safety/emergency procedure training;
- Must possess effective communication skills.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively. Problems during work causing questions about objectives and boundaries are discussed. Effective communication orally and in written form is required.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Incumbent's work consists of moderately complex, relatively standardized tasks, processes or operations. Work is performed under moderate supervision. Instructions are relatively complete. Incumbent recommends or requests deviations from general instructions when necessary. Ability to understand moderately complex, relatively standardized tasks, processes or operations;

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Valid Indiana Driver's License if City of Fort Wayne vehicle is used.
- First Aid and CPR Certification.
