A Community Center Supervisor job is available with the City of Fort Worth Park & Recreation Department (PARD) at Andrew Doc Session Community Center. We are seeking a detailed oriented professional to join our CAPRA accredited department. This position will supervise and coordinate Community Center program activities and operations within the Park & Recreation Department. The Community Center Supervisor will also coordinate assigned activities with other divisions, outside agencies and the general public; and will provide complex staff assistance to senior management staff and participate on a variety of committees.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Recreation, Sports Management, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Three (3) years of responsible community center service or recreational programming experience
  • One (1) year of administrative and/or lead supervisory experience.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPR, AED and First Aid certifications or have the ability to obtain within first six (6) months of employment.
  • Membership and active participation in NRPA and TRAPS (or related state association).
  • Experience working with Active Net or similar registration software.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Certified Park and Recreation Professional (CPRP)

The Community Center Supervisor Job Responsibilities Include

  • Hire, train and supervise staff, which includes facilitating resources, prioritizing and assigning work.
  • Coordinate and schedule the organization and operational activities of the Community Center and related recreational, educational, and cultural programs.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies and priorities.
  • Identify opportunities for improving methods and procedures and identifies resource needs.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality, responsiveness, efficiency and effectiveness of assigned city service programs, service delivery methods and procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service and respond to and resolve customer issues and needs.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the community center and facility grounds and monitor equipment for cleanliness and proper function.
  • Participate in the development and administration of assigned Community Center budget.
  • Complete various administrative tasks such as staff scheduling, deposits, monthly reports, purchase orders request, among other.
  • Develop marketing materials to promote community center program and activities.

Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling and lifting.

Medium work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
