Job Summary
JOB SUMMARY :
The Swimming Pool Operations Manager is responsible for intermediate professional management and administrative duties related to the planning, organizing, and operation of the Edward P. Thomas, Jr. and William R. Diggs Memorial Swimming Pools. Responsible for the hiring, training and supervision of City seasonal staff. Serves as a liaison between the City and contracted Pool Management Company. Position shall provide for the overall daily operation of the swimming pool facilities to include : daily admission and concession sales, customer service, cleanliness, and contract management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Oversees operation of Thomas and Diggs Public Swimming Pools, including contract management, hiring and training of seasonal staff, and management of ticket and concession expenses and revenue.
- Oversees overall operation of Summer Swim Program, including swim lesson registration, hiring and training of seasonal staff, expenses, and revenue.
- Provides a high level of customer service to patrons, responding to pool related program questions, in-person, via email and telephone.
- Responsible for all daily admission sales, pool pass entry, punch card entry and special camp / group entry through an electronic registration system (RecTrac). Subsequently responsible for the collection of all revenue resulting from daily admission sales, ensuring that number of daily admission sales and revenue collected correlate.
- Ensures concession products are available for sale and reports any products that require restocking.
- Responsible for the sale and revenue collection of concession products, ensuring that products sold, and revenue collected correlate.
- Acts as liaison with Pool Management Company on a regular basis to ensure for safe and efficient facility operations.
- Maintains open communications with City pool staff, pool patrons, pool management staff (particularly the contracted pool manager) and the Recreation Supervisor.
- Notifies supervisor of all incidents, including facility work orders, and completes necessary documentation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
