VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT EQUIPMENT OPERATOR II – Roll Off Starting Salary : $38,906   Join Our Team as an Equipment Operator ll - Roll Off! Are you ready to operate roll-off equipment and ensure the efficient maintenance of the City’s Right of Ways? We are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to focus on the operation of roll-off trucks and the related equipment. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the community stays clean and safe while effectively managing the equipment. If you have a passion for outdoor work and are skilled in operating heavy machinery, we want to hear from you! Key Responsibilities : Lead a team of laborers in maintaining the City’s Right of Ways. Operate roll-off trucks and other heavy equipment, including backhoes, loaders, dump trucks, and street sweepers. Perform routine maintenance on trucks and sweepers, ensuring they are in top condition. Assist in snow removal operations and other weather-related duties during special events. Supervise, train, and mentor subordinate employees to enhance team performance. Maintain accurate records of work performed and report on progress. Provide excellent customer service and build effective relationships with employees, officials, and the public. What We Offer : A dynamic work environment where your leadership makes a difference. Regular hours from Monday to Friday, 7 : 30 a.m. – 4 : 00 p.m., with flexibility for special events. Opportunities for overtime during peak seasons and special operations. Qualifications : High school diploma or GED. 3 to 5 years of experience in maintenance and repair, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid commercial driver’s license and flagging certificate from the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Transportation. Successful completion of a criminal background and driving record checks.
