The Police Services Representative I is a non-sworn position within the Police Department that provides administrative and field support across various divisions. Responsibilities vary based on the area of assignment, including responding to public inquiries, aiding in investigations, managing property and evidence, supporting community outreach, enforcing traffic laws, processing permits, and assisting with crime prevention initiatives.

- Valid Class C California Driver’s License and acceptable driving record at the time of appointment and throughout employment in this position.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule to accommodate City needs, including emergency call-ins, overtime, call-backs, shift work, nights, holidays, and weekends.
- Must be able to successfully pass a Police Department pre-employment screening process.

Candidates who successfully complete the assessment process for this recruitment will be placed on an eligible list, which will remain in effect for at least one year or until an insufficient number of candidates remain on the list.
Current City of Fullerton employees may be given preference during the testing and/or selection process.
Employment offers are conditional upon the successful completion of a background check and a medical examination conducted by the City’s designated physician at the City’s expense. The background check will include fingerprinting, verified by the State of California Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Certain positions may require a more extensive background check. Medical examinations assess an individual’s ability to meet the physical requirements of the position. Additionally, all new hires and employees appointed to safety-sensitive classifications must undergo a drug screening.
An appointee will serve a 12-month probationary period.
