Under basic supervision, the Custodian is responsible for performing a full range of custodial duties related to the care, maintenance and cleaning of assigned buildings and facilities; participates in other assigned manual labor tasks. Responds to and resolves facility complaints, sets up and takes down tables and chairs for City functions. This position exercises no supervision.

Additionally, tidying kitchens, meeting rooms, gyms, etc., and emptying trash containers.•Cleaning and stocking of all breakroom and common area supplies.•Washing and spot-cleaning windows.•Assisting in setting up special functions, parties, and meetings, including tasks such as table setting and dishwashing.•Collecting trash and debris in designated areas around buildings.•Retrieving mail.•Maintain regular and consistent attendance during assigned work hours.•This position is considered essential during a natural or manmade disaster and/or a catastrophic event. This position may be required to provide service or perform duties for the benefit of the public and continuity of City operations. These may include services or duties different from those performed in the usual course and scope of this position.Physical Demands and Working Environment (The physical demands and environmental conditions described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.) During this job, you'll often stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The work primarily involves light tasks, exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects. You'll regularly operate specialized small equipment.
