Under direction, is responsible for the coordination of training and development programs to be used by City departments and employees. Coordinates training content, programs, initiatives and performs administrative tasks. Performs related duties as required. This position will coordinate training across all City departments including Police, Risk & Safety, and Human Resources. This position will work with internal customers and external vendors to plan and execute training both in-person and virtually including assisting in the management of the Learning Management System.Â
Starting Salary Range:Â The starting salary is between the minimum and midpoint of the range ($53,040.00 - $64,979.20). Candidates will start at the minimum of the range unless their skills, experience, education, or other factors exceed the qualifications for the position.Â
Licensure or Certification Requirements: Current and valid Ohio driver's license with an acceptable driver's abstract in order to meet criteria for insurability established by the City of Gahanna. State of Ohio Notary Public preferred.

- Assist with the development, maintenance, and evaluation of the City of Gahanna's training and development programs and initiatives, including administering the travel policy.
- Perform training coordination, needs assessments, and logistical planning and implementation of training.
- Create training schedules, track and create reports on outcomes of all training, and maintain training records; Develops and maintains tracking of required certifications and effectiveness of the training programs.
- Assists in the management of the Learning Management System (LMS) to plan, implement, track, and monitor training. Monitors the completion of training by staff and reports to supervisors as needed.
- Recommend training materials and methods, order and maintain in-house training equipment and facilities, and manage the budget set for training.
- Designs and implements innovative projects that leverage the power of instructional technologies effectively to improve learning.
- Exercises independent thinking while providing support for the department; responds to inquiries and complaints or directs to appropriate person/department.
- Provides administrative support; Completes a variety of complex reports and materials; conducts research; compiles data and prepares reports or presentations.
- Consult with departments, outside agencies, industry information, and other subject matter experts to maintain up-to-date, relevant, and accurate training materials and curriculum.
- Regular, predictable, and punctual attendance is required.

- Maintains a comprehensive knowledge of training principles, procedures, and presentation techniques; monitors, researches and assesses new training techniques for most current practices and approaches.
- Attend seminars and meetings to learn new training methods and techniques and use the knowledge to prepare and coordinate future training sessions.
- Provides excellent customer service.
