Job Description
Under administrative direction of the City Manager incumbent directs manages supervises and coordinates the activities and operations of the Human Resources Department including recruitment and selection benefits employee health and wellness programs and employee relations. employee and labor relations disciplinary actions classification and compensation training and employee assistance; equal employment opportunity employee and organization development central personnel records and files and human resources policies and procedures; coordinates assigned activities with other division departments and outside agencies; and provides highly responsible and complex administrative support to the City Manager. The incumbent participates in organizational budgetary and operational planning on a City-wide basis. The Human Resources Director is the primary City representative in collective bargaining negotiations and labor relations and handles major employee relations issues and other general management projects in support of the City Manager’s Office and supervises the work of professional technical and administrative staff.Additional Information
STARTING HOURLY PAY: $48.95 P/HMINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in human resources business administration or public administration
- Five (5) years of increasingly responsible human resources experience which includes at least three (3) years of supervisory responsibility
- Computer skills and proficiency in Word Excel Access PowerPoint with a combination of four (4) years of experience with applications Valid New Mexico driver’s license
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Certification in Human Resources Management from an accredited program such as SHRM HRCI or another similar program
