Part-Time
$15.00 per hour
15-20 hours per week (days, nights, and weekends availability)
Essential Duties
- Create membership accounts for patrons using the Parks and Recreation software. Follow all enrollment instructions and all software rules and guidelines.
- Use sign in sheets and various binders to assist in tracking. Keep everything up to date, documented, and forwarded to correct personnel.
- When monitoring admittance control for patrons, ensure that each account has a waiver and emergency contact.
- Ensure rooms are prepared for scheduled rentals as indicated on the weekly schedule for Spaceport, Esports, and Movie Theater.
- Assist patrons in locating meeting rooms for their assigned activity.
- Open Spaceport, Esports, and Movie Theater accordingly. Unlock doors at appropriate times. Gather all necessary materials for your shifts including game requests, concerns, and patron request/feedback sheets. Turn on the lights, all gaming equipment, computer stations, and your individual workstation. Ensure that all gaming equipment is working properly (Monitors, keyboards, mouses, controllers). Ensure all volume is at appropriate levels. Ensure all Spaceport admittance protocol and Spaceport rules are being followed. Ensure the rules of Gaming PCs, Consoles, and Arcade Games are being followed. Make sure equipment is not being abused, and report any concerns to Mgmt.
- Walk the rooms during your shift and monitor GG Leap to ensure that age restriction rules are being followed and that games that are not allowed to be downloaded are not on the gaming systems.
- During your shift, Gaming Assistants may be asked to download and play new games for possible additions to gaming stations.
- Ensure the safety of patrons, especially during hours when large age differences are in place. No bullying. No inappropriate language. No roughhousing.
- Close Spaceport, Esports, and Movie Theater accordingly. Lock doors at appropriate times. Clean according to training at the end of your shift. Wipe down and keep in good working order all equipment. Push in chairs, straighten furniture, and keep the room aesthetically pleasing. Ensure cords are not tangled and are kept in good working order. Gather all game requests, concerns, and patron request/feedback forms that have new information, make a copy, and put them into the Building Manager's mailbox. At the end of your shift, print the admittance report and put it in the Building Manager’s mailbox. Turn off the lights, all gaming equipment, computer stations, and your workstation). Notify the Building Manager of any equipment that is not working properly.
- Gaming Assistant may be asked to perform normal job duties for private party rentals.
- Occasionally Garden City events require working at other locations. Set up, take down, crowd management and gift monitoring may be required. These events may be during inclement weather, before or after normal business hours
- Performs other related work as assigned.

Schedule:
- 5-8 hour shifts
- Daytime, Evening and Weekends available
