Position Summary: This position is responsible for the protection of people and property, for responding to requests for service and information, for arbitrating disputes in order to maintain peace, for patrolling to observe and prevent criminal activity as well as traffic violations, and for enforcing state and local criminal and traffic laws. Education, Experience, Training, Special Licenses, and Other Requirements
Must be age 21 or older; High School Diploma or equivalent, college preferred but not required; Meet the qualifications outlined under the Georgia Code, Georgia Peace Officers Training, Sections 35-8-8 and 35-8-9. Acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR); Acceptable Criminal Background/Fingerprint Report; Acceptable Drug Screen;
Skills
Requires: Knowledge of City geography and road system; Skill in safe operation of motor vehicle; Skill in making rapid assessment of varying situations and ability to make accurate decisions accordingly; Skill in first aide applications; Skill in verbal and written communication; Skill in the safe and appropriate use of firearms and other weapons of force; Skill in observing and recalling details accurately.
Schedule and Benefits
Position Schedule: Full time; Varying hours/days/shifts; Will work 86 hours bi-weekly and overtime when required.

Pay: $58,137.00 - $62,608.00 per year
