We are currently seeking enthusiastic individuals for multiple part-time positions. Work hours and schedules vary according to program and participant needs. The Aquatics program runs Monday - Thursday from 8:45 a.m. - 9:30 p.m. and Friday - Sunday from 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. The current vacancies are seasonal positions for Summer programs (May through September). All candidates must be at least 16 years old by date of hire.
LIFEGUARD: $17.00 - 19.00 hourlyLifeguards are responsible for supervising the swimming pool and swimming pool deck, enforcing regulations, performing rescues, and performing minor janitorial and pool maintenance as needed.
INSTRUCTOR GUARD: $18.50 - 20.50 hourly
Instructor Guards are responsible for providing swim instruction, supervising the pool, enforcing regulations, performing rescues, and performing minor janitorial and pool maintenance as needed.
LIFEGUARD
Lifeguards must be at least 16 years old and either possess the following certificate or be able to successfully complete the City provided training for the following:
- Lifeguarding or Shallow Water Lifeguarding certificate
INSTRUCTOR GUARD
Instructor Guards must be at least 16 years old and either possess the following certificates or be able to successfully complete the City provided training for the following:
- Lifeguarding or Shallow Water Lifeguarding certificate
- Water Safety Instructor (WSI) OR Basic Swim Instructor certificate

- Shallow Water Lifeguarding (including Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED) on May 10 and 11th from 8:00 A.M. - 6:00 P.M.
- Basic Swim Instructor on May 24 and 25th from 8:00 A.M. - 6:00 P.M. - Please note that these dates fall during the Memorial Day holiday weekend
- All Aquatics Employee In-Service Training on May 31st from 9:00 A.M. - 2:00 P.M.
If unable to attend these classes, candidates are responsible for obtaining the proper certification(s). Certificates must be issued by a Red Cross or American Heart Association approved provider. KNOWLEDGE OF:Proper aquatic safety; development and monitoring of swimming programs and lessons; CPR; First Aid; and customer service techniques and principles.

The selection process will consist of:
- Oral panel interview - tentatively scheduled for the week of April 8, 2025 - April 11, 2025
