What are the responsibilities and job description for the Streets/Stormwater Maintenance Worker position at City of Garland, Texas?
Summary
Responsible for performing semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance and repair of streets and alleys.
Starting Pay Range : $15.54 (depending on qualification and experience).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Operate 12-yard dump truck. Transport materials between job sites. Maintain street and alley pavement by :
- patching distressed areas with hot and cold asphalt material
- level lifting distressed areas utilizing polyurethane injection equipment
- sealing joints and cracks by applying a hot tar sealant
- Attend safety meetings on a monthly basis.
- Perform pre-trip / post-trip vehicle inspections and complete daily work sheet for equipment operated.
- Clean and maintain job site.
- Keep work location and vehicle(s) in order.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) No experience
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Licenses and Certifications
Valid Texas Class A Commercial Driver's License with a Tanker Endorsement or the ability to obtain within six months of hire Valid Class C Texas driver's license
