SIX-WHEEL DRIVER
SALARY: $16. 09 HR.
Six-Wheel Driver is responsible for operating six-wheel trucks in a safe and appropriate manner. Six Wheel trucks may include Dump Trucks, Dump Trucks w/snowplow, roll-off truck and other pieces of equipment operated by General Services. This position is Driver/Laborer. The incumbent must have proficient knowledge in the following areas.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge of truck and equipment safety
- Knowledge of Dump Trucks, Dump Trucks w/snowplow, and other pieces of equipment operated by General Services
- Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and procedures
- Knowledge of equipment cleaning standards and procedures
SKILLS:
- Ability to Operate Single axel trucks in a safe and responsible manner
- Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
- Decision making skills
- Effective verbal and listening communication skills
- Ability to record pickups and maintain daily records
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Six-Wheel Drivers are required to be on 24hr call from November 1, until April 1. A valid CDL is a requirement for employment. Drivers must be physically fit and be able to pass a substance screen.
- TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Education equivalent to that of a High School Diploma, CDL Class B w/airbrakes endorsement and at least one to two years related experience.
