JOB DESCRIPTION:

Analyzes vendor invoices for propriety and reasonableness. Processes financial data to maintain business records, specifically accounts payable for payment, by performing a variety of accounting, clerical and bookkeeping tasks by using accepted procedures of the City of Gary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

An Associate’s degree in accounting or related field or one (1) year of basic accounting and or business office experience and training. Computer experience required with knowledge of accounting software systems. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Applications with an emphasis on Word and Excel. Excellent organizational ability. Effective corporate communications skills. Ability to consistently meet deadlines.
