The General Services Department is seeking a highly organized and experienced General Services Manager to provide administrative and managerial support to the General Services Department, Public Works Deputy Director, and Recycling Director. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in administrative coordination to ensure smooth operations within the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-level administrative and managerial support to leadership within General Services and Public Works.
- Utilize expert-level proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) to prepare professional documents, reports, and presentations.
- Draft and distribute memos, correspondence, and official communications on behalf of department leadership.
- Maintain and coordinate employee records, files, and department documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with city policies.
- Assist in the planning and coordination of departmental meetings, projects, and special initiatives related to General Services and Recycling.
- Serve as a key point of contact for interdepartmental coordination to facilitate smooth communication and workflow.
- Support the development and implementation of operational procedures to improve department efficiency.
- Handle time-sensitive administrative tasks with attention to detail and discretion.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong managerial experience with a proven ability to oversee administrative functions and support department leadership.
- Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize work efficiently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with document preparation, records management, and departmental coordination.
- High level of professionalism and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Previous experience in government, public works, or general services administration is preferred.
