                                                                                                                                               DESCRIPTION: 

Assists the Zoning Administrator with reviews all Board of Zoning Appeals and Plan Commission variance, PUD, and rezone applications for completeness. Generates Petition numbers; assist with compliance with the provisions of the Zoning Ordinance and completeness of the application. Prepares packages for Board of Zoning Appeals and Plan Commission meeting. Including zoning ordinance research, GIS data, Comprehensive Plan, and all other required information; Prepares PowerPoint presentation and documents for the Zoning Administrator. Works directly with the Code Enforcement department. Coordinates with Code Enforcing to gather court dates and add to Zoning Administrator’s calendar.  Contacts Board of Zoning Appeals and Plan Commission members to confirm quorum for meetings; Contacts, coordinates and schedules Pre-application, Site Plan Review and all other required meetings of the Zoning department.  Perform site inspection as necessary.    

Reviews and approves permit request. Participates in Site Plan review. Assists with drafting new legislation, Zoning applications, etc. Initiates zoning violation complaints.

Contacts landowners/applicants of necessary corrective action. Maintains inventory of said violations, including; dated photographs and/or other evidence.  

•                                                                                                                                 QUALIFICATIONS: 

Bachelor's Degree in Planning, Architecture, or Public Administration; 1-year minimum experience required; Valid Drivers’ License; Ability to work and communicate with other elected and appointed officials and the public with appropriate etiquette and diplomacy (written and oral) Telephone/email etiquette and skills. Ability to speak before groups and organizations. Knowledge of OpenGov related to permit review. Knowledge of construction, real estate, zoning and subdivision terms as appropriate for zoning reviews. Expert level knowledge/experience with Microsoft office suite. Must possess exceptional organizational skills. Must meet deadlines. 

Must be able to work inside in office conditions most of the time. Work outside on occasion, despite weather conditions, and exposure to environmental conditions. Regular travel to locations throughout municipality/region.
