Civil Engineer III
Performs difficult professional and administrative work involving the planning, design, construction and inspection of complex public works and utilities projects; does related work as required. Work is performed under the general direction of the assigned supervisor. - Plans designs & coordinates the construction of major public works projects, coordinate inter and intra-governmental activities, oversees bids, agreements and related matters with private contractors and other officials; (35%)
- Plans, supervises and participates in the review of subdivision, site, and construction plans, plats and specifications for codes compliance, municipal standards and policies, and sound engineering principles; (20%)
- Plans, supervises and reviews the work of technical personnel engaged in the preparation of designs, drawings, estimates, specifications, construction contracts, payments to contractors and related engineering work; (20%)
- Provides developers, contractors, and the general public with technical information relating to engineering projects; (5%)
- Coordinates work of consulting engineers, other municipal departments and governmental agencies with that of the Engineering Division; (5%)
