As a Customer Service Representative in our Utility Call Center, you’ll deliver exceptional service while helping customers with their utility needs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Be the friendly voice assisting customers with utility connections, disconnections, and billing inquiries.
- Analyze utility accounts, validate meter readings, and resolve billing discrepancies with precision.
- Create service work orders for residential and commercial accounts.
- Prepare water read reports through MDM and Data Hub for water and electricity usage review for the customer.
- Use email and call systems like Jira and Cisco to provide accurate and helpful account information.
- Empower customers to navigate the Customer Self-Service Portal, including setup and maintenance of auto-drafts.
- Communicate important utility-related updates and events to customers.
- Uphold call center performance metrics, including responsiveness, accuracy, and professionalism.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, training and Experience Guidelines
CSR Level: High School diploma or equivalent, plus two (2) years of customer service experience in a call center or equivalent combination of training and experience in a similar field.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Exceptional customer service skills and professionalism, with call center operations knowledge.
- Proficiency with computers, data entry, and related software.
- Ability to multitask - analyze data, solve problems, and communicate solutions effectively to the customer during your calls.
- Knowledge of call center performance metrics.
- Knowledge of City municipality, utility rates, and billing procedures is a plus.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Valid Class C Texas Driver's License
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Standing, sitting, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, fine dexterity, kneeling, crouching, crawling, bending, twisting, climbing, balancing, vision, hearing, talking, use of foot controls.
Hiring Range: $18.36 - $23.00, hourly.
