The Metering Maintenance Supervisor oversees a team of technicians who maintain and install the City of Georgetown's water metering infrastructure.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Supervise a team of meter maintenance technicians in their duties.
- Work with management to plan and carry out day-to-day and special project activities.
- Maintain records of employee and division performance.
- Provide mentoring, coaching, and guidance for staff.
- Conduct training for meter maintenance staff.
- Perform regular on-site safety evaluations.
- Perform quarterly and annual employee performance evaluations.
- Carry out disciplinary and corrective actions to ensure performance and provide a positive working environment.
- Coordinate with meter maintenance planner-schedulers and AMI analysts to assign work duties and schedules.
- Make determinations in the field to comply with City policies, ordinances, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Identify and procure equipment and consumables required for meter maintenance activities.
- Draft standard operating procedures and internal policies.
- Conduct recruitment of meter maintenance technicians.
- Perform occasional warehousing duties.
- Perform, as necessary, all duties expected of a meter maintenance technician.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training, and Experience Guidelines
High school diploma or its equivalent. Six (6) years of full-time experience in operations and maintenance of water distribution or wastewater collection systems. One (1) year experience in a supervisory capacity.
OR any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- OSHA general industry workplace health and safety requirements
- Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI)/Automated Metering Infrastructure (AMR) technology
- Fluid metering technology
- TCEQ water utility regulations
- Diagnosis, programming, repair, and replacement of fluid metering equipment
- Planning and installation of industrial piping
- Operation of maintenance equipment (light service cranes, hydro-excavation, warehousing)
- Leadership skills
- Conflict resolution
- Professional communication
- Microsoft Office products
- Work management software
- Meter data management software
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Valid Class C Texas driver’s license
- TCEQ Class C Water Distribution license OR the ability to obtain within eighteen (18) months from date of hire.
- OSHA Forklift Operator certification OR the ability to obtain within six (6) months from date of hire.

Physical Requirements:
Standing, sitting, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, fine dexterity, crouching, bending, vision, hearing, talking, and use of foot controls.
Working Conditions:
Working in/around: indoors and outdoors, slippery and uneven walking conditions, machinery and moving parts, moving objects or vehicles, machinery/heavy equipment, confined spaces, night work/on-call, excessive dampness or chilling, excessive humidity
Exposure to pollutants and disease-causing agents, hazardous chemicals, electrical hazards, excessive heat, excessive cold, extreme weather conditions, and excessive noise.
Hiring Range: $34.63 - $43.39, hourly.
