Job Summary: This position is responsible for repairing and maintaining a variety of city vehicles and equipment.

Major Duties:
• Troubleshoots maintenance problems using diagnostic tools.
• Performs engine, exhaust, electrical, brake and hydraulic repairs on a variety of vehicles and equipment.
• Conducts scheduled preventive maintenance functions including checking the condition and operation of
batteries, tires, lights, transmissions, exhaust systems and brakes.
• Performs corrective maintenance procedures on heavy equipment, including hydraulic, electrical and various
degrees of engine repair.
• Performs vehicle and equipment maintenance procedures such as tune-ups, oil and filter changes, heating and
air conditioning repair.
• Responds to emergency call backs.
• Performs a variety of engine diagnostic procedures.
• Performs emergency repairs on vehicles as necessary; troubleshoots equipment failures at job sites.
• Welds and fabricates parts.
• Maintains the shop and assigned tools; performs housekeeping duties.
• Responds to emergency call backs on an as-need basis. Serves on-call for snow-ice operations.
• Build and maintain tactful, effective/positive working relationships with co-workers, other city employees and
the public.
