Staff provides customer service at the facility, to programs, and to people of all ages and abilities. Initial duties shall consist of assisting member or participants with questions, monitoring the Fitness Center and Gymnasium, and maintaining cleanliness and maintenance of fitness machines. | ||

- Follow safety and security procedures. Prepare professional and detailed incident, accident and other reports, and documents.
- Communicate effectively with staff as well as having clear written communication to supervisors.
- Assist in day-to-day operations (including set-up and organization) of various recreation programs and activities.
- Monitors programs participants, enforces rules and regulations, and monitors security of the fitness center and gymnasium.
- Ability and comfortable to working independently.
- Adhere to dress code and uniform policy.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Must have a high school diploma or GED.
Ability to:
- Learn Parks and Recreation policies and regulations.
- Understand and follow safe working practices.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing.
- Handle hostile or irate individuals, groups, and situations.
- Conduct equipment and facility checks.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with City staff and the public.
Special Requirements:
- Must have/obtain CPR Certification within 30 days of hire.
- A post-offer physical assessment is required. The City of Glendale will incur the cost of all required testing.
