Position Overview
Under the immediate supervision of the Recreation Supervisor, this position is responsible for monitoring and preparing for recreation activities at designated athletic fields including adult softball leagues and field rentals. This position is also responsible for the overall cleanliness and operations of the athletic complex, safety of facility users, and maintaining a positive and healthy environment.
Expected Hours of Work
Hours are typically Monday-Thursday from 5–10:30pm. In addition to typical program hours, staff may be required to work additional events. Hours may include days and weekends.

- Prepares athletic fields for adult softball leagues.
- Establish, maintain and foster positive working relationships with program participants and general public.
- Monitor activities to ensure adherence to rules and safety procedures.
- Cleans and makes minor repairs to recreation equipment and facilities. Reports maintenance concerns as necessary.
- Completes reports and communications essential to administration of park activities.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position does not have employee supervisory responsibilities. However, staff will oversee programs, participants, and facility users to ensure safety, and enforcement of rules/regulations.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Available to work weekday evenings late April - September without requests for extended time off.
- Ability to perform routine maintenance tasks and facility repair including the use of hand tools such as rakes, shovels, brooms, chalkers, and utility carts.
- Ability to work independently with little direct supervision, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize effectively.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Knowledge of athletic facility maintenance requirements, procedures and equipment.

Work Environment & Physical Demands
Work is conducted both indoors and outdoors. Employee is subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions. Employee is subject to noise, during events and activities, but generally free from additional work hazards. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently walk, sit, stand, and talk or hear. The employee may occasionally bend, climb, reach, push and/or pull overhead, and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is required to use hands to handle or operate objects, tools, or controls; as well as reach with hands and arms. Staff will frequently read and interpret documents, including safety manuals and operating procedures. Staff will frequently traverse around the park location and its amenities.
