Under the direct supervision of the Lead Assistant Golf Professional, the Assistant Golf Professional - Seasonal assists in all aspects of the golf operations for Fossil Trace Golf Club, including the day-to-day responsibilities in managing daily play, special events, golf shop, golf course operation, and player development. Works closely with fellow golf employees by providing support, promoting the Club’s vision, and promoting the game of golf with an emphasis on providing industry-leading customer service.
The Assistant Golf Professional – Seasonal may be responsible for teaching junior and adult group lessons, clinics and schools. Schedule will include a minimum number of Golf Shop shifts per week and may be required to work early morning, evening, weekend and holiday shifts.Provides service and hospitality to golf course guests. Works with fellow Pro Shop employees in a team approach to daily operations; creates and fosters a high degree of customer service and professionalism in the workplace.
GOLF OPERATIONS
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises assigned guest services positions including but not limited to Outside Guest Services/Cart & Range, and Golf Shop Attendants. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
High school diploma or equivalent. Must be a PGA Member in good standing or currently enrolled in and/or completed Level 1 of PGA Certification, or completed LPGA Class B certification. Must possess excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Prior retail, hospitality and/or golf sales preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must possess outstanding customer service skills and ability to deal with diverse populations. Ability to direct assigned personnel in necessary areas to maintain golf course and assist customers. Ability to prepare budgets and write reports. Ability to speak effectively one-on-one or before groups of customers, employees, boards, etc. Ability to respond to customer concerns promptly and effectively. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, the public and other agencies.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to analyze and prepare budgets and financial information in accordance with city policies. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical business situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must possess excellent conflict resolutions skills. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Walking and standing approximately 6 – 8 hours a day may be required. Must be able to answer phone, and hear and respond to telephone inquiries. Uses vision to read handwriting and computer data, greet customers, and perform general management duties. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

GOLF OPERATIONS
- Assists in the administration of leagues, tournaments, high school teams, golf tournaments and outings and Junior Golf programs.
- Enforces golf course policies and procedures as well as policies and procedures of the City.
- May provide custom club fitting.
- Daily opening and closing of the Pro Shop, collection of green fees, rental of carts and clubs, sale of range balls and Pro Shop merchandise. Responsible for maintaining the Golf Shop in a clean, orderly and fully stocked condition.
- Assists as needed in the merchandising, inventory control and display of Golf Shop merchandise. Assists with inventory control of Pro Shop and management of the Pro Shop counter.
- Responsible for daily cash reports and bank deposits at the end of each shift. Performs daily collection, deposit, and accounting procedures for golf course fees and charges in accordance with City policies and procedures.
