Under the direct supervision of the Lead Assistant Golf Professional, the Outside Guest Services Lead be responsible for supervising specific parts of the golf operation including Cart and Range, Starter, and Players Assistant. Assignments are based on needs of the organization. May be required to work early morning, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
This position is eligible for either seasonal or part-time employment. Seasonal employment is up to 40 hours per week for a maximum of 6 months. Part-time employment is a maximum of 24 hours per week with eligibility for year-round work subject to when the course is open.
Works in a leadership capacity to provide service and hospitality to golf course guests in the areas of Cart and Range, Starter, and Players Assistant operations.
Works with fellow employees in a team approach to daily operations; creates and fosters a high degree of customer service and professionalism in the workplace.
Responsible for training, assigning, and directing work, as a manager on duty.
Addresses complaints and resolves problems with Outside Guest Services staff and golf course guests.
Provides evaluation input of Outside Guest Services staff.
Performs the duties of Outside Guest Services.
May assist with the scheduling of Outside Guest Services staff.
May assist events staff in setting for special functions/events.
Functions in all areas of Outside Guest Services to provide backup support and shift coverage as necessary.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Prior lead or supervisory experience required. Must have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with guests, employees, and representatives of other agencies. Must be able to speak clearly on telephone, radio, and paging system.
Working knowledge of the game of golf preferred. Must be able to write clearly and decipher and plan optimizing the scheduling of a tee time sheet. Computer literate with working knowledge of MS Office preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must possess outstanding customer service skills and ability to deal with diverse populations. Ability to direct assigned personnel in necessary areas to maintain golf course and assist customers. Ability to respond to customer concerns promptly and effectively. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, the public and other agencies.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical business situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must possess excellent conflict resolutions skills.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid driver’s license with good driving record.
Current CPR/First Aid Certification preferred.
MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED
Personal computer, tablets, general office equipment, golf course equipment, power washer, driving range equipment, golf carts.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds, such as golf bags, golf clubs, range golf ball buckets, etc. Walking and standing approximately 6 – 8 hours a day may be required. Must be able to answer phone and hear and respond to telephone inquiries. Uses vision to read handwriting and computer data, greet customers, and perform general management duties. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
