Job Description Summary
The City of Goodyear is looking for Youth Sports Recreation Leaders and Youth Sports Site Supervisors. Youth recreation leaders provide sports site support such as field/equipment setup, supervising games, providing customer service to patrons, administering basic first aid, and assisting with field/equipment tear down. Youth Sports Site Supervisors supervise practices and games, assign staff roles and duties, enforce rules and code of conduct, complete daily shift reports, and assist with setup and tear down. Both positions may also referee games for soccer, volleyball, and basketball. These positions typically work weekday evenings from 4:30 - 9:30 PM and Saturdays, 7:00 AM - 1:00 PM.

EXAMINATION PROCESS
Only a limited number of the most highly qualified applicants meeting the City's requirements will be invited for an interview. The examination process for this position will include a panel Interview and may include a written assessment.

Essential Functions
Assists with the recreation programs, events and sports leagues by distributing materials, setting up and tearing down events, officiating games, administering first-aid, communicating with the public and using supplies and equipment.
Experience working in a youth sports setting is preferred. Experience in playing/officiating/coaching various youth sports is preferred.
A valid Driver's License is preferred.
Requirements
- Supervises and implements the execution of an activity, event or program with minimal direction. Exercises the necessary supervision of personnel to meet the needs of the activity, event or program.
- Communicates to Recreation Coordinator or Recreation Programmer regarding incidents, decisions and issues pertaining to activities, events or programs. Responsible for the completion and filing of accident and statistical reports regarding incidents and issues pertaining to programs, as required.
- Supervises and implements the distribution, care and use of supplies and/or equipment for assigned programs.
- Ensure proper maintenance of recreational facilities and equipment to provide a safe and sanitary environment, notifies supervisor of any problems and/or concerns.
- Ensure City policies, procedures, rules, and regulations are strictly enforced; responds to and resolves complaints; advises and provides assistance to individuals and groups on related recreational problems; assist the general public and responds to their questions, comments, and/or concerns.
- Performs on-site program inspections and evaluations to ensure compliance with program and city safety policies and procedures.
- Maintains awareness of new developments in the recreation field and offer suggestions to the Recreation Programmer or Coordinator.
- Attend meetings as assigned. Assist with other recreation programs, as requested. Some positions may require the performance of additional position accountabilities and/or related duties.
- Maintains regular attendance and punctuality.
