The City of Goodyear is seeking highly motivated individuals to work as Group Fitness Instructors at the Goodyear Recreation Campus. This is a part-time position, and the ideal candidate will possess good customer service, strong communication skills, be positive, friendly and able to teach high quality group fitness classes.
We are currently seeking group fitness instructors with certification(s) in the following formats:
Integrity - Initiative - Empathy - Optimism - Innovation – AdaptabilityExamination Process
All qualified applicants who meet the City of Goodyear’s requirements will be invited to move on to the examination process, which includes an interview and class demonstration.

- Monitor participants and their ability to ensure proper use of equipment and technique
- Instruct group fitness classes by developing class content appropriate to the class description and level
- Ensure effective preparation for each class music and equipment Monitor proper clothing/shoes of participants
- Provide a safe and fun class environment
- Attend all trainings and meetings to ensure quality operations
- Demonstrate strong communication skills, be out-going, and enjoy building relationships with a variety of people
- Provide information and answer questions about available programs
- Enforce all rules that pertain to group fitness on a constant basis
- Observe all safety rules and regulations
Must possess and maintain current certifications for the specific class format hired to teach Must have the ability to instruct with proficiency Experience leading various groups of people with different fitness abilities One-year experience teaching group fitness classes preferred Current state approved CPR/AED and First Aid Certification Consistently meet participation requirements Must teach approved number of classes per month or more
