HIRING RANGE: $23.00 - $25.89 per Hour

About the Position:
This position will operate a variety of equipment including dump trucks, loaders, backhoes, tractors, forklifts, grounds keeping equipment, snow removal equipment, power and hand tools, and other specialized maintenance and construction equipment related to area of assignment; perform safety and maintenance inspections on assigned vehicle or equipment; perform routine vehicle and equipment repairs in the field.
About the General Service Department:
The General Services Department was created in 2018 to provide quality internal management services that support City departments in a manner which enable them to carry-out their community missions in a cost-effective and efficient manner. These internal services include fleet maintenance and acquisition, facilities and real estate, procurement, warehousing, project team, streets maintenance and operations, Stormwater Maintenance/Regulatory Operations Right-of-Way Weed Maintenance and other support services. Duties
What You'll Do:
- Operate a variety of equipment including dump trucks, loaders, backhoes, tractors, forklifts, grounds keeping equipment, snow removal equipment, power and hand tools, and other specialized maintenance and construction equipment related to area of assignment.
- Perform safety and maintenance inspections on assigned vehicle or equipment.
- Set up safe and effective traffic control, including street barricades and cones, prior to the performance of maintenance and construction activities to ensure public and worker safety through work zones.
- Direct and control traffic around work sites.
- Participate in the installation, maintenance, and reconstruction of streets and related systems.
- Install and replace guardrails, barriers and other street system safety devices.
- Clean debris from irrigation systems, street and storm drain systems, parking lots, walkways, ditches, and alleys.
- Clean and maintain assigned areas.
- Construct and install improvements to walkways, bike paths, irrigation and storm drain systems including building and forming irrigation and storm drain structures.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
This position is a safety position, which means you will be subject to random drug screens due to the nature of the work performed.
What We're Looking For:
- One year (1) of general labor experience.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Possession of, or the ability to obtain within 90 days of hire, a valid Colorado Class "A" Commercial driver's license.
Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
