We are seeking a seasoned Financial System Implementation Administrator with local government accounting experience to lead an ERP financial module implementation and optimization projects. The position will be full-time with benefits through the expected end of the implementation in September 2026. This is a great opportunity for finance professionals with at least 5 years as an Accounting Manager or Controller with a city who are eager to apply their expertise in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
•Lead the implementation, upgrades, and optimization of financial modules within ERP systems, ensuring adherence to local government and GAAP accounting standards.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze financial requirements and translate them into efficient system configurations.
•Provide expert guidance on the city’s accounting processes, including revenue recognition, expense management and classification, as well as financial reporting.
•Develop and deliver training programs to ensure seamless system adoption by end users.
•Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency.
•Ensure compliance with prevailing wage regulations, payroll laws, and city accounting policies.
•Troubleshoot and resolve issues during financial system implementations, coordinating with IT Department and 3rd party contractors as needed.
•Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to provide innovative solutions and recommendations.
•Local travel to city facilities and/or other locations as required.
•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
•Minimum of 5 years in local government accounting
•Prior experience as an Accounting Manager or Controller desired.
•Strong understanding of government accounting principles (GAAP), financial reporting, treasury operations, and component units.
•In-depth knowledge of prevailing wage regulations and payroll laws.
•Hands-on experience with ERP systems, preferably within the local government industry.
•Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
•Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with a talent for explaining complex financial concepts to diverse audiences.
•Self-motivated and capable of working both independently and within a team.
•Willingness to travel locally to collaborate and meet with departments in-person.
Preferred Qualifications:
•Experience working in Lawson or other legacy systems.
•Experience implementing ERP financial software such as Workday.
•Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
•Professional certifications such as CPA or CMA.
Please note this is a TEMPORARY position:
•Project Duration: The position is funded only through the project’s completion date of September 30, 2026.
•End of Project Employment: After the conclusion of the project, employment with the city will cease unless the individual applies for and is selected for a different, funded, and budgeted city position.
•No Guaranteed Transition: There will not be a specific position created for any project employee to continue their employment after the project ends.

Pay Range DOE $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
