Job Summary
Essential Job Functions
- Administers group health insurance program by conducting new hire benefits orientation; maintaining COBRA files; reviewing new enrollments and changes for accuracy; completing changes as required by the plan; coding forms according to the plan; copying and faxing forms to various vendors; mailing originals to vendors; inputting data to payroll system; copying files in personnel files; communicating with employees regarding forms in order to clarify information about coverage and dependent information; and assisting employees with any questions or concerns.
- Administers the wellness program by planning and coordinating health fair and wellness activities; recruiting volunteers; scheduling meetings; monitoring the budget; locating and calling vendors for participation; and creating letters, maps, and participation surveys for vendors.
- Maintains records by maintaining various spreadsheets; maintaining applications; and selecting rejection forms and interview rating sheets for legal and EEOC purposes.
- Completes special projects by conducting and responding to salary surveys; completing ESR processing; and assisting with special events as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Formal Education / Knowledge: Requires Graduation from an accredited college with an associate’s degree with major study in human resources management, business or public administration or a closely related field; and/or two years of increasingly responsible experience in all areas of human resources. Any equivalent combination of education and experience, with additional work experience substituting for the required education on a year for year basis.
Experience: Over one year up to and including two years.
Certification and Other Requirements: Valid Texas Class C Driver's License

Project Duration: The position is funded only through the project’s completion date of September 30, 2026.

End of Project Employment: After the conclusion of the project, employment with the city will cease unless the individual applies for and is selected for a different, funded, and budgeted city position.
- No Guaranteed Transition: There will not be a specific position created for any project employee to continue their employment after the project ends.
