What are the responsibilities and job description for the Equipment Service Worker - 2nd Shift position at City of Grand Rapids?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.
- Performs preventative maintenance on heavy and light equipment
- Makes small repairs of equipment
- Prepares new equipment for service
- Makes service/recovery calls
- Maintains parking lot and fuel island area
- Shuttles vehicles and equipment to local shops
- Maintains Fuel Island and equipment including cleaning and maintain vacuum system
- Mounts and balances all size tires using tire changing and balancing machines
- Inspects brakes, front and rear suspensions, steering systems, exhaust system, lighting systems, etc. for wear condition
- Assists other mechanics with equipment repairs
- Performs related work as required
- High school diploma (or GED equivalent)
- At least one (1) year of related work experience in the servicing of light and heavy equipment
- Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities
- Valid Michigan Driver's License
- A Valid Michigan Commercial Driver's License Class A with Air Brakes and N Endorsement or the ability to obtain within 6 months of employment
Hours: 2:00 pm to 12:00 AM,
Days: Four, 10 hour work days. A schedule of Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday will be assiged.
