Essential Functions
As the Assistant Indoor Camp Manager, you will be part of the team that turns every camp day into an adventure-filled memory! You will be overseeing daily operations, guiding camp counselors, and ensuring the safety and happiness of our campers.
- Supervise daily camp activities and help ensure safety.
- Collaborates with the Camp Manager and Camp Coordinator to oversee the implementation of recreational programs and activities for children 6-12 years of age.
- Lead and support camp counselors and staff.
- Engage with parents and provide top-notch customer service.
- Assist in camp maintenance, from setting up to keeping things running smoothly.
- Ensures the safety of all participants in programs.
- Performs related duties as directed when such duties are a logical and appropriate assignment to the position.
- Regular and timely attendance are required for this position.
- Interacts professionally and respectfully with the public, coworkers, and others during daily work.
Required Skills
- Minimum age 18. High school diploma/GED or a minimum of two summer seasons as a Recreation Coordinator Assistant I or II (RCA I or II), Lake Parks Assistant I or II (LPA I or II) or Instructor required.
- Prefer applicant pursuing a Bachelor's degree in parks, recreation, leisure, human development or related field.
- Ability to lead, coordinate youth, staff, and volunteers, turning each camp day into a memorable adventure.
- Must have or obtain American Red Cross or American Heart Association CPR, First Aid and AED certification before the first week of camp or before being placed on the work schedule.
- Must be able to work various times and be available nights, weekends and some holidays.
- Must pass a Federal/National criminal background check and have a valid Texas driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as defined by City policy.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
