- Assists the Swim Lesson Instructor with teaching swimming lessons.
- Promotes public relations with facility users by receiving and responding to their questions.
- Performs general maintenance and housekeeping in the aquatic facility.
- Ensures the safety of class participants and provide supplemental supervision to participants at all times.
- Exercises good judgment to ensure a safe environment for participants.
- Discusses with the Swim Lesson Instructor which equipment will be needed prior to class times and be able to use the proper techniques in assisting the Swim Lesson Instructor.
- Attends in-service training as required by the Department.
- Performs related duties as directed when such duties are a logical and appropriate assignment to the position.
- Regular and timely attendance are required for this position.
- Interacts professionally and respectfully with the public, coworkers, and others in the course of daily work.
- Minimum age 15.
- Must pass the Swim Lesson Aide training from Grapevine Parks and Recreation department.
- Ability to brave the elements including high heat and humidity, for multiple hours with few breaks.
- Must pass a Federal/National criminal background check.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
