Job Summary:
The City of Greeley is looking for youth instructors (Basketball) for our summer camps with City of Greeley Recreation. Passionate, friendly, and encouraging sports instructor will play an integral part in helping successfully conduct seasonal sports clinics and camps. Instructors will be responsible for upholding the City of Greeley youth sports philosophy, leading safe, effective, and encouraging camps, clinics, and activities for a variety of sport formats. Instructors must be dependable and timely. Training and lesson plans will be provided based on experience. Clinic and camp lengths will vary by sport and age. Clinic ages will also vary from 3–14-year-olds.
Experience, Knowledge, Skills:
Minimum Requirements
- Zero to three (0-3) years experience in community facing roles or customer service.
- One to three (1-3) years experience working with youth from ages 3 -14
- Three to ten (3-10) years in one or more of the following sports: football, soccer, tennis, baseball, basketball, volleyball, lacrosse, cheer, pickleball, dance.
- Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED/First Aid Certification required: American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Preferred
- Zero to three (0-3) years coaching experience preferred.

Essential Functions:
- Responsible for design and delivery of sports camps and clinics
- Keeps accurate record of class attendance.
- Willingness to cross-train in other sport categories, camps and clinic opportunities
- Serves as a role model to staff and participants as it relates to sport philosophy, etiquette and safety.
- Provides a friendly, inclusive, service-oriented environment for parents and participants.
- Maintains familiarity of Greeley Recreation functions including risk management procedures, registration information, basic operational practices, and understanding of programs and services.
- Responds to all injuries and assist in immediate emergency procedures.
- Keeps accurate inventory of clinic and camp equipment in your possession.
- Maintains CPR/AED/First Aid certifications.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
Work Environment
- Regular exposure to outdoor elements while performing job responsibilities.
- Occasionally loud noise levels within the recreation facilities.
- Workdays can extend from early mornings to late evenings, as well as weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements
- Variable Hour Position: employees are expected to work less than 30 hours average per week.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Physical effort required including, but not limited to, squatting, bending, running, reaching, and prolonged standing and walking.
Travel
- May travel up to 10% of the time.
