General Description
The Department of Public Works is seeking a Time Clerk to prepare and maintain payroll and related records. The successful candidate will possess Excel skills, the ability to meet required deadlines, and the ability to work under minimal supervision.
Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Friday 7:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. (40 hours per week).
Hiring Range: $26.07 - $27.55 per hour.
No residency requirement.

Examples of Duties
- Enters, amends, and audits bi-weekly payroll and calculates hourly rate changes.
- Maintains leave accrual records and conducts leave balance audits.
- Determines overtime eligibility.
- Creates and maintains payroll-related reports and documents.
- Maintains and updates seniority lists, table of organization, and personnel files.
- Prepares internal job notices for union vacancies.
- Assists employees with payroll-related questions.
- Performs other tasks as required.
Minimum Qualifications Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of post high school courses in accounting or related field highly desirable.
- Minimum of two years experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or related activities.
