Green Bay Water is looking for a highly skilled, full-time Filter Plant Technician who can provide preventative maintenance on filtration and ozonation equipment including pumps, electric motors, chemical feed equipment, and more! Apply now! Hiring Range: $39.21 - $43.33 /hour. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3 : 00 p.m., plus additional hours as required which may include nights, weekends and holidays. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Maintenance/TechnicianRepairs and maintains filtration and ozonation plant equipment including pumps, electric motors, generators, chemical feed equipment, electrical equipment, instrumentation, boilers, heaters, diesel and gas engines, valves, pipes, meters, basins, and filters.Monitors SCADA control systems and makes proper adjustments.Inspects, repairs, and performs preventative maintenance on water treatment equipment and controls.Inspects, repairs, and maintains structures and building equipment.Performs water quality lab tests using proper analytical techniques.Calibrates and troubleshoots instrumentation and complex control loops and equipment.Works safely with hazardous chemicals using proper techniques and safety guidelines.Utilizes computer and related software to perform job duties. GeneralParticipates in on-call program for filter plant and pumping section.Performs computerized record keeping and report generation. Stays abreast of latest technology.Maintains safe work areas and equipment.Performs other related work as required.

Considerable knowledge of water treatment equipment, processes and treatment chemicals. Considerable knowledge of mechanical and building maintenance. Considerable knowledge of occupational hazards and safe work practices. Good knowledge of SCADA control systems. Considerable skill in operating and maintaining treatment plant equipment. Considerable skill in troubleshooting control loops and equipment, calibrating various analyzers, meters and valves. Working knowledge of PLC’s. Working skill in plumbing/pipe fittings. Considerable skill in using laptops and other computer equipment to test, calibrate, configure and repair complex electrical and electronic devices. Considerable skill in repairing chemical feed equipment. Considerable skill in working safely in a chemical handling environment. Considerable skill in consulting and using equipment manuals, read and interpret plans, specifications, circuitry/wiring and ladder logic diagrams for operation and maintenance practices. Considerable skill in reading mechanical and electrical drawings. Working skill in maintaining diesel and gas driven engines.Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to proficiently utilize a computer and the required software. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the staff and the public. Ability to set priorities in a maintenance environment. Ability to identify trends in water treatment equipment, determine outcomes, and make adjustments to equipment as required. Ability to use time effectively and efficiently. Demonstrates alertness and ability to anticipate problems. Ability to work the required hours of the position, including availability to work extended hours and after- hours call-ins as needed.May be required to demonstrate minimum competency by successfully passing approved tests.
