Introduction

Minimum : $15.03 per hour
Six (6) months of additional experience over minimum requirements : $15.58 per hour
One (1) year of additional experience over minimum requirements : $16.14 per hour

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Position Summary : A camp position in the Youth Programs Division, assisting with daily camp operations, participant supervision, group coverage and facilitation of educational, recreational activities and field trips. Assist with classroom supervision, activity set-up, breakdown and minor custodial duties.

Participates in the pre-camp employee training, becomes familiar with the Employee Handbook and the expectations of the position.Becomes familiar with camp policies and procedures and the Palm Beach County Health Department (PBCHD) rules and regulations regarding supervision, attendance and transportation.Ensures the supervision, safety and security of all participants and assigned volunteers.Record group and bus attendance in accordance with the PBCHD rules and regulations.Serves as an exceptional role model during camp program.Coordinate, implement and evaluate recreational program and activities.Executes daily activity schedules, gathers materials, assists with room set-up, breakdown and clean-up.Ensures activities and field trips run smoothly in accordance with the PBCHD rules and regulations and the Youth Programs Department policies and procedures.Provides first-aid, for accidents / injuries or in an emergency situation, reports to supervisor and documents accident / injury.Provide positive intervention with discipline related issues, report to supervisor, as necessary and document the incident on City's incident / accident form.Maintain the safety, security, and cleanliness of facility, equipment and vehicles.Communicates to appropriate program supervisor any problem, conflict or concern that may arise.Maintains accurate participant records including attendance, discipline, medication log, accident, etc.Assists with meeting the four (4) main Quality Improvement System (QIS) standards (Safe Environment, Supportive Environment, Interaction and Engagement).Performs other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of :
Minimum standards of developmentally appropriate practices for children, youth or teens, depending on assignments.Understanding of basic programming for specific activities, games, sports, arts & crafts.Safety regulations and emergency procedures.Environmental factors that may affect participants; weather, water hazards, animals, plants, etc.Classroom and behavior management techniques.Sports rules and regulations and ability to execute them as needed.Ability to :
