Compensation and Benefits:
Hiring Salary Range: $45,017 - $59,233 Full Salary Range: $45,017 - $80,557 Annually, depending on qualifications.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts.
Weekend and holiday work may be required for park events and programming.
This position is classified as “Service Critical” and requires availability to report to work in all weather conditions.

About the Role
As the Assistant Park Manager, you will support the operations, maintenance, and programming for Country Park and Price Park. Your role will focus on ensuring an engaging, safe, and well-maintained park environment for all visitors. You will:
- Coordinate and perform daily maintenance and oversee specialized park facilities at Country Park, including gardens, lakes, dog park, restrooms, playgrounds, trails, and picnic shelters.
- Collaborate with local organizations to develop engaging events such as the Battle of Guilford Courthouse Reenactment, Guilford Native American Pow Wow, and various 5K fundraising races.
- Provide exceptional customer service, manage fee collection, and enhance public engagement.
- Oversee maintenance at Price Park, including project coordination, meadow management, and trails upkeep, while working with partners on events and programs.
- Supervise full-time, part-time, and seasonal staff, as well as contracted service providers, to ensure a clean, safe, and enjoyable park experience.
- Assist with budget development and implementation, training park personnel, and managing overall park operations.

Qualifications
What You Bring
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with 1-3 years of experience in supporting public and private events and programs
- “OR” an Associate’s Degree with 5-7 years of experience in supporting public and private events and programs
- “OR” a High School Diploma/GED with 7 or more years of experience in supporting public and private events and programs.
- A valid Driver’s License.
- Experience using Microsoft Office and general office equipment.
- Prior supervisory experience.
- Experience maintaining and operating various types of maintenance equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Parks and Recreation or a closely related field.
- 1-3 years of work history in a Parks and Recreation position.
- Prior experience in facility and grounds maintenance.
- Experience using RecTrac or similar software.
- Possession of a valid CDL driver license.
- Possession of a current Pesticide License “OR” ability to obtain within 1 year of hire.
