Work Schedule: Monday-Friday; 6:30 am-3:00 pm. This position is service critical and requires work during inclement weather events.

About the Role:
As a Greenway and Gardens Crew Member, you will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing our city's greenways, gardens, and parks. Your responsibilities will include a variety of landscaping tasks, ensuring that our community spaces are safe, beautiful, and inviting for all residents and visitors.
Essential Functions:
- Perform various landscaping tasks, including planting, pruning, pest and disease management, irrigation installation and repair, mowing, edging, blowing, and snow removal.
- Responsible for routine garden, greenway, park, and building maintenance, including trash collection, mopping, and restroom cleaning.
- Maintain knowledge of ornamental plants and proper pruning techniques.
- Ensure safety practices and procedures are followed at all times.
- Work in all weather conditions, including inclement weather, and be available for occasional weekend, night, holiday, and special event work.
This job is Non-Exempt and is subject to the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Qualifications
What You Bring:
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Valid Driver’s License
- Landscape management experience
- Experience with hand tools (pruners, saws) and equipment (blowers, gas shears, chain saws, edgers) associated with landscaping
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree or higher in horticulture or related field
- North Carolina Pesticide Applicator License “OR” ability to obtain with 6 months of hire
- North Carolina Certified Plant Professional
- Experience with ornamental plant identification and care
