Work Schedule: M-F 6:30a-3p April-November
- Hourly Employment: Roster positions are paid hourly and do not include benefits such as medical, dental, or vision insurance, life insurance, paid leave, or paid holidays.
- Limited Hours: Roster employees may work up to, but no more than, 1,000 hours in a 12 month period.
- Pension System: Roster positions are not eligible for membership in the city’s pension system.
Brief Description of Work:
This is a Seasonal Roster Crew Member position. As a vital part of the Greenway and Gardens staff, you will be called upon to perform various tasks related to landscaping that may include but not be limited to: planting, pruning, trash collection, grounds maintenance, weed eating and edging. The physical duties of the job require walking, standing, repetitive bending, repetitive kneeling and lifting of up to 50 pounds safely in all types of weather. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of ornamental plants and proper pruning techniques, experience with hand tools (i.e. pruners, saws, blowers, edger, weed eaters,) associated with all aspects of landscaping. The ideal candidate should also have experience in turf grass management and landscape maintenance.
This job is Non-Exempt under FLSA policy.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Valid Driver's License
- 1-3 years Landscape Maintenance Experience
An Ideal Candidate Would Also Possess (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with ornamental plant identification and care
- North Carolina Pesticide License
