About Communications and Marketing:
What we do:
- Operate the City's government cable channel, Greensboro Television Network (GTN) and Contact Center
- Hold news conferences
- Maintain the City's website and intranet site with real-time information
- Offer marketing, writing, editing, and media relations services
- Provide background information for news stories
- Serve as the City's official liaison with the news media
- Write and distribute news releases, brochures, and internal and external newsletters.
The Graphic Services Division offers creative services to all Greensboro City and Guilford County departments as well as surrounding municipalities.
Creative services include layout and design, copying and printing along with finishing. Staff also processes, sorts and delivers inbound, outbound and inter-office mail for City departments.
About the Position (Mail Clerk):
The employee in this position will enjoy being part of a team-oriented, fast -paced mail center operation where primary duties include receiving, sorting and delivering mail along with processing outbound mail, bulk mail, packages and certified mail. Other duties include recordkeeping for month-end chargebacks. Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word are used to communicate with customers and compile reports. Prior mailroom experience is a plus. The physical duties of this job include: lifting 50 lbs, and operating a city vehicle to service daily mail route (about 80% of the day).
The job is NON-EXEMPT under FLSA.
Compensation and Benefits:

Work Schedule:Monday - Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED with some experience working in a mailroom environment where mail is taken in, sorted and processing of mail and bulk mail is performed daily. Mailroom experience should include counter or window service.
- Or No High School Diploma or GED with 1-3 years of experience working in a mailroom environment where mail is taken in, sorted and processing of mail and bulk mail is performed daily. Mailroom experience should include counter or window service.
- Experience with USPS types of mail and services
- Valid Driver's license
- Experience using Word, Excel & Outlook
- Previous Customer Service Experience
- Previous experience delivering on a designated route
