About the Role:
As a Plant Supervisor, you will oversee all maintenance activities at a water or wastewater treatment plant, ensuring full compliance with City, State, and Federal regulations. Your leadership will be essential in keeping operations running smoothly and efficiently. This job is Non-Exempt and is subject to the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
What You’ll Do:
- Coordinate between Operations and Maintenance teams to maintain production and regulatory compliance.
- Troubleshoot and optimize plant processes in collaboration with Operations and Laboratory teams.
- Oversee plant safety, security, and facility maintenance.
- Serve as the City’s representative for contractors during construction projects.
- Assign, prioritize, and schedule maintenance activities.
- Manage inventory and control of parts warehouses.
- Assist in budget planning and tracking with the Superintendent of Maintenance.
- Evaluate plant processes for automation and efficiency upgrades.
- Supervise maintenance personnel, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and disciplinary actions.

- Strong knowledge of water/wastewater treatment plant operations and maintenance.
- Ability to interpret and enforce compliance regulations at local, state, and federal levels.
- Experience in managing teams, scheduling work, and overseeing projects.
- Analytical mindset to troubleshoot plant processes and recommend improvements.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate across departments and with external contractors.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Driver's License
- High School Diploma or GED
- 4 years experience in an industrial maintenance environment at a water/wastewater facility.
- 2 years of Supervisory experience
- Must have NC AWWA Maintenance Technologist 2 ( "OR" the ability to obtain one within 18 months of hire date)
An Ideal Candidate Would Also Possess (Preferred Qualifications):

Associates Degree, preferably in the physical sciences, Maintenance management/administration, Construction Management, Industrial
Maintenance, Electrical or Electronic technology, Mechatronics, Automation, Process Control, or Robotics.
