Introduction
The Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department, a nationally accredited and four-time National Gold Medal Award winner, is seeking a motivated and skilled Adaptive Mountain Bike Programmer/Technician. Work Schedule- Flexible scheduling, including clinics, demos, and programming sessions.
- Work with participants directly and maintain equipment safety standards.

- Hourly Employment: Roster positions are paid hourly and do not include benefits such as medical, dental, or vision insurance, life insurance, paid leave, or paid holidays.
- Limited Hours: Roster employees may work up to, but no more than, 1,000 hours in a 12 month period.
- Pension System: Roster positions are not eligible for membership in the city’s pension system.
While roster positions do not include benefits, they are often a pathway to full-time, benefited employment with the City. Many of our current full-time employees started in roster positions, and we encourage you to explore this opportunity as a potential first step in your career with us.

As the Adaptive Mountain Bike Programmer/Technician, you will:
- Provide adaptive mountain biking programs for individuals of all abilities.
- Perform light maintenance and safety checks on adaptive bikes and equipment.
- Fit participants to adaptive hand cycles and guide them on trail usage.
- Organize clinics, demos, and programs to educate participants and foster inclusivity.
- Enforce safety rules, maintain equipment usage records, and ensure program excellence.
- Work autonomously, demonstrating task-oriented and self-starting qualities.
The Job is NON-EXEMPT under FLSA.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A valid Driver’s License
- Familiarity with bicycle maintenance and repair
- A passion for helping others explore outdoor adventure
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in outdoor adventure programming
- Strong customer service skills
- Outdoor skills (hiking, kayaking, archery, mountain biking, etc.)
- First Aid, CPR, and AED certification
