- Hourly Employment: Roster positions are paid hourly and do not include benefits such as medical, dental, or vision insurance, life insurance, paid leave, or paid holidays.
- Limited Hours: Roster employees may work up to, but no more than, 1,000 hours in a 12 month period.
- Pension System: Roster positions are not eligible for membership in the city’s pension system.

The Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department, a nationally accredited and award-winning organization, is seeking talented individuals to lead our aquatic facilities as Swimming Pool Managers. This role combines leadership, safety, and operational responsibilities to ensure our pools are a safe, fun, and welcoming space for the community.
About the Role:As a Swimming Pool Manager, you will:
- Supervise staff, manage facility operations, and coordinate pool programs.
- Monitor safety in the aquatic area, enforce rules, and respond to emergencies.
- Plan workloads and organize staff assignments.
- Teach or oversee swim lessons.
- Ensure proper pool chemistry and maintain facility cleanliness.
- Provide exceptional customer service and accurate information about hours, fees, and activities.
- Set up and manage Wibit inflatable water play systems.
- Uphold the City of Greensboro's core values: Honesty, Integrity, Respect, and Stewardship.
This job is Non-Exempt under FLSA policy.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Driver's License
- Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification
- CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer Certification
- First Aid Certification
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations for swimming pool facilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Water Safety Instructor Certification
- Certified Pool/Spa Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification
- Previous management experience in an aquatic setting
- Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Certification
- Completion of the American Red Cross Lifeguard Management Course
Other Recruitment Requirements:
- May apply to participate in a winter or spring Lifeguard class for staff prior to summer season, to attain certifications
- Must know how to comprehend and carry out instructions
- Stronger consideration and a higher wage may be provided to candidates who possess Lifeguard certification, additional related certifications
- Please provide copies of certifications with application
- Additional mandatory in-service trainings/meetings will be held throughout the season
- Required holidays to work: Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day
