- Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM (schedule may vary)
Join the award-winning Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department as a Camp Inclusion Counselor, where you'll provide direct leadership and support to children and adults with disabilities in traditional summer camps. - Hourly Employment: Roster positions are paid hourly and do not include benefits such as medical, dental, or vision insurance, life insurance, paid leave, or paid holidays.
- Limited Hours: Roster employees may work up to, but no more than, 1,000 hours in a 12 month period.
- Pension System: Roster positions are not eligible for membership in the city’s pension system.

As a Camp Inclusion Counselor, you will:
- Ensure the safety and well-being of participants.
- Implement personalized inclusion action plans.
- Support participants in fully engaging with all camp activities.
- Collaborate with staff to adapt or modify activities as needed.
- Provide close supervision, personal care, and behavioral support.
- Foster communication with parents, supervisors, and center directors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Encourage participants to engage in activities alongside peers.
- Monitor and modify behaviors to ensure a positive experience.
- Assist with program adaptations to meet individual needs.

This position is Non-Exempt under FLSA policy.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license.
- At least 1 year of experience working with individuals with disabilities.
- At least 1 year of summer camp experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications.
- Behavior intervention training.
