- Limited Hours: Roster employees may work up to, but no more than, 1,000 hours in a 12 month period.
- Pension System: Roster positions are not eligible for membership in the city’s pension system.

The Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department is seeking an Inclusion Medical Support Counselor to provide direct support to participants with medical needs in our programs. If you have experience assisting individuals with medical conditions and a passion for inclusion, this role is for you!
- Supervise and monitor participants with medical needs to ensure safety and well-being.
- Implement medical management plans for conditions such as Type 1 diabetes, seizure disorders, digestive disorders, cardiac conditions, and more.
- Administer medications as outlined in participant care plans (including routine medication, injections, and emergency treatments).
- Assist with medical tests and treatment decisions per medical guidelines.
- Maintain documentation of support provided.
- Attend specialized training with healthcare providers and/or guardians as needed.
- Manage and track medical supplies (medications, gloves, etc.).
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, staff, and parents/guardians regarding participant needs and care.
- Ensure confidentiality and uphold ethical medical practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid Driver’s License.
- 1 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities.
- Experience providing personal care assistance per medical guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience supporting individuals with Type 1 diabetes, seizure disorders, digestive/urinary conditions, or cardiac conditions.
- Experience managing emergency situations.
- Completed coursework or certifications in medical-related fields (phlebotomy, CNA, medical assistant, EMT, nursing, etc.).
