Work Schedule:
This position follows a 40-hour work schedule, typically Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a 30-minute lunch break. The schedule may change during holiday weeks or emergency situations, which could require weekends, nights, or holiday work. This position may also participate in the snow and ice removal program, which involves working 12-hour shifts during winter events, including emergency tree call-back.

About the Role:
As a Landscape Crew Leader, you will be a working supervisor for a small crew of 1-2 subordinates. Your responsibilities will include overseeing landscaping, mowing, pesticide application, mulching, fertilizing, and maintaining trees, shrubs, and parkland on a routine schedule. You'll ensure work is performed safely and efficiently while maintaining accurate work records in the EAM work order system. This role requires strong communication skills for report preparation and the ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
Physical duties include standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, walking on uneven surfaces, shoveling, and lifting heavy items up to 50 pounds. The work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions. You must maintain good attendance and have a reliable contact method (home or cellular telephone).
Licenses Required: You must obtain a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License with a tanker endorsement within 120 days of employment and a North Carolina Pesticide License within 1 year of employment.
This job is Non-Exempt and subject to the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
What You Bring:
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED with 1-3 years of experience in commercial mowing or landscaping,
- “OR” No High School Diploma/GED with 5-7 years of experience in commercial mowing or landscaping.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite
- Valid NC Pesticide License (“OR” the ability to obtain within 1 year of employment).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid Class A or B commercial driver’s license.
- 5 years of experience in chemical application.
- Certified Plant Professional designation.
- Experience using EAM or other work management software.
